FirstLine Intelligence Systems Approved for Microsoft Azure Government, Begins Platform Migration

OKLAHOMA — FirstLine Intelligence Systems today announced that it has been approved for Microsoft Azure Government and has begun migrating its law enforcement platforms, Narrative AI and FirstLine FTO, to the government cloud.

Azure Government is Microsoft’s sovereign cloud for the United States public sector. It is the same cloud environment Microsoft operates for federal civilian and defense agencies, including dedicated regions for the Department of War, as well as for state, local, and tribal governments. It is physically isolated from Microsoft’s commercial cloud, operated by screened U.S. personnel, and open only to government entities and the organizations that serve them, each of which Microsoft must validate before access is granted.

A government-grade foundation for CJIS workloads

FirstLine’s platforms have been built from the outset to align with the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy. The migration places that design on infrastructure built specifically for criminal justice information. Microsoft supports the CJIS Security Policy in Azure Government and has executed the CJIS Security Addendum with state CJIS Systems Agencies across the country.

Under the CJIS framework, compliance is established between each agency, its vendors, and the state CJIS Systems Agency. By operating on Azure Government, FirstLine gives agencies and their state CJIS officials an established, recognized foundation to evaluate, reducing the time and uncertainty of vendor security review.

Availability

The migration is underway. Both platforms remain fully available during the transition, and FirstLine will notify current agencies in advance of any change affecting their data. The company has not announced a completion date.
